Accessibility declaration

Web standards

The new design of www.bde.es has achieved a AA ("double A") level of accessibility according to the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines 1.0 Link in a new window established by the W3C Link in a new window; the design has been expanded with some points and recommendations belonging to the AAA ("triple A") level to improve overall accessibility.

In addition to the accessibility guidelines, the XHTML 1.0 standard for mark up of content and cascading style sheets (CSS) for visual design has also been adopted. As far as possible technologies requiring the use of specific apparatus or browsers has been avoided. These standards guarantee access to information using any browser that supports the recommendations of the W3C Link in a new window.

In the event of a user visiting the site using a browser that does not support style sheets, the structural mark up enables all content to be viewed correctly. In addition, the site may be browsed easily without having Javascript activated.

  • Accessibility guidelines: All the pages comply (at least) with all priority 1 and 2 checkpoints defined in the guidelines of Web Content Accessibility Guidelines 1.0. This gives a conformance level AA ("Double-A") compliance with the currently recommended accessibility standards.
  • Structure: The pages have been validated as Transitional XHTML 1.0.
  • Presentation: The visual presentation of the pages has been defined using CSS cascading style sheets, which have been validated with the CSS 2 specification.

If, despite the efforts we have made, you find that any part of the website does not meet the specified standards, we would be very grateful if you would send an e-mail to webmaster@bde.es, so that we can check and correct the problem.
