RECOMMENDATIONS FOR VIEWING CSV FILES

The CSV files have been devised using the following numerical punctuation symbols:

  • decimal separator: .
  • thousands separator: none
  • list separator: ,

The files can thus be viewed correctly if these settings are defined in the Windows control panel (language/country settings).

If the language/country settings are different (e.g. those usually used in Spain, for which the symbols are , . ; for the above three cases), the CSV files can be correctly viewed on an Excel spreadsheet. It may be necessary to use the Text Wizard in the Excel Data menu or some other procedure controlled by the user. Further, if the file has data with decimal figures, it will have to be edited in order to change the field separator and the decimal separator before opening it with Excel.
