List of monetary Financial Institutions (MFIs)

Monetary Financial Institutions (MFIs) comprise resident credit institutions as defined in Community law, and all other resident financial institutions whose business is to receive deposits and/or close substitutes for deposits from entities other than MFIs and, for their own account (at least in economic terms), to grant credits and/or make investments in securities.

The list of these institutions is of particular interest for the MFIs resident in Spain themselves, i.e. for the banks, savings banks, credit co-operatives, specialised credit institutions, the Official Credit Institute and money market funds that, in accordance with rule seventy-one of Banco de España Circular 4/2004 of 22 December 2004 PDF File: Link in a new window (1,01 MB) and Circular 1/2002 of 16 September 2002 of the National Securities Market Commission, must comply with the Statistical Requirements for Stage Three of Monetary Union.

with different formats and ordering criteria, containing the complete list updated monthly (on the last or penultimate day of each month) or only the changes during that month (joiners, leavers and changes of name or address).
