As a general rule, peseta-denominated banknotes issued from 1939 are exchangeable. Those issued between 1936 and 1939 must be examined by Banco de España experts to determine their exchange value.
The only peseta-denominated coins exchangeable for euro are those having the characteristics that can be elicited by clicking on the following coins (the front and reverse side designs may vary).
In addition to these coins, all 2,000-peseta coins can also be exchanged.
These coins can be exchanged at Banco de España for an unlimited time.
